Institute of Marine Geology

    The Institute of Marine Geology is a tertiary teaching and research entity of the Department of Marine Geology and Geophysics, College of Oceanography at Hohai University. There are twelve full-time faculties in the institute, including one professor, four associate professors, and seven lecturers. All of the teachers have achieved doctor degrees, and half of them have gained experience studying in oversea top universities.

    Our institute mainly focuses on oceanic lithosphere and mineralization, paleoceanography & paleoenvironment,and marine ecological geology, etc. Currently we have established cooperative relationship with the Second Institute of Oceanography of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the P.R. China, Qingdao Institute of Oceanography of the Chinese Geology Survey, Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development of China National Petroleum Corporation, etc.

    In the recent four years, our institute has undertaken more than twenty projects including NSFC, ministry (provincial) and enterprise projects, which have acquired fruitful achievements in marine geology and mineral resources.
