Profile

  • I'm a sea ice-ocean modeler with focus on Arctic and sub-Arctic numerical simulations, I have engaged myself in Finite Element Sea ice-Ocean Model (FESOM) development work since 2010, especially for improving the performance of FESOM in high resolution simulations in the Arctic and North Atlantic regions.

  • I did my PhD study (in FESOM model development team at Climate Dynamics section) and one-year postdoctoral fellowship (in Paleoclimate Dynamics section) at Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (AWI) in Germany, and I’m the member of FESOM1.4 modeling group at AWI. I participated in FESOM model development and application, including the model tuning, parameterization scheme implementation and optimization, model validation and application in polar oceans, especially with focus on the simulation of Arctic and North Atlantic regions.

  • During my PhD study, I also worked together with Dr. Qiang Wang, representing AWI modeling team, for the assessment of Arctic Ocean modeling of FESOM under the framework of CORE-II Ocean Model Intercomparison Project. We carried out all the project needed experiments with FESOM and did the major work of FESOM model output analysis.
